Storage
LThe
storage of a cigar is very important to
enjoy the smooking, because it influences
in draw, taste and burning.
A cigar is a vegetable product and must
be stored at nearly the same conditions
it had at the cultivation, fermentation
and rolling processes.
It must be stored at a dark place and
with as few as possible climatic changes.
The best solution is a humidor.

The best storing conditions are at a
tempreture between 16 and 18 degrees (60,8
- 64,4 ºF) and a relative humidity
between 70 and 72%.
A humidor is normally made of cedar wood
and has a humidifying device inside. The
created tropical clima prevents the cigars
from drying out and getting fragil so
that they can be stored for a longer period
of time.

Most of the humidors have a little device
to store water. Once the device is filled
with water, it evaporates to keep the
humidity balanced.
Those devices are usually simple. They
consists of a sponge or a plastic pipe,
which slowly releases the humidity.
Do not store the cigars in a refrigerator,
because they can catch the scents of food
and reproduce them later at the smoking
stage.
